statement
My work starts from fragments: images, footage, sounds, words. Whether it is a documentary, an analogue collage, or a piece of music, the gesture is the same: gathering, choosing, juxtaposing, letting something new emerge from the relationship between parts.
I practice reuse as both method and ethics. Pre-existing materials (photographic, sonic, cinematic) are displaced from their original context and returned in new configurations, new possibilities of meaning.
Each work is a puzzle: the initial idea is a reference to move towards, and the process of making it means solving the enigmas that surface along the way.
