Giuseppe Petruzzellis – Filmmaker and artist.
I’m interested in the metamorphoses of the human journey, collective memory, biographies, relationships, ecosystems, and spirituality.
I explore these themes through documentary cinema, video, writing, sound, and visual arts.
I often work with archives and found materials.
I also collaborate as a producer, editor, and colorist; I teach and lead workshops.

- La Ricerca (2023) – Feature-length documentary about the work of Luigi Lineri. Thousands of stones to explore human nature. Original score by Nicolás Jaar. Awarded at Visions du Réel, Le FIFA, and the Biografilm Festival.
- Aplysia – The film production company I founded in 2007.

- Teaching a course on cinema and digital content creation, in collaboration with CFI Ferrara.
- La Ricerca will be part of the “Wise Earth” event, organized by Commons Calling on the occasion of Buona Fera (formerly BioFera) 2026. Screening and talk on September 12, 2026 at 5:45 PM at the Battistero di Villa Meda in Canzo (CO).
- Insieme ai Cavalli: uno spazio di crescita emotiva, the documentary about pet counseling with horses I edited under the direction of Francesca Piani, will be presented to the public on September 15, 2026 at 5:00 PM at Sala Borsa, Bologna.
- The short doc Forget me not, which I co-directed with Fabio Marin, will be part of the event organized by Mezzodì – Notizie e Gallerie. Screening and talk on September 25, 2026 at 7:00 PM at Circolo della Pace, Bologna.
- Developing my second feature-length documentary, Wind and Water.
- Distributing the documentary The Wonder, directed by Joshua Wahlen / Alessandro Seidita, featuring Chandra Candiani, Roberta Dapunt, Barbara Alberti, Claudia Fabris, Antonietta Potente, Grazia Marchianò, and Susanna Tamaro.
- Working on the collage series Birthdays.
