Exploring the <strong>Adige river<\/strong> and the <strong>Lessinia mountains<\/strong>, <strong>Luigi Lineri<\/strong> has collected and catalogued <strong>countless pebbles<\/strong> with <strong>human and animal shapes<\/strong>, reminiscent of mysterious <strong>prehistoric sculptures<\/strong>. Stones thus become the instrument to research the deepest human nature, amid primordial memories and omens for the future. Evoking <strong>mythological images<\/strong>, his artwork pays homage to the struggles of men and women who lived through <strong>the infancy of our species<\/strong>, allowing us to become what we are. A collective existential investigation, a journey through time, across <strong>symbols, art, ecology and technological progress<\/strong>. Combining the languages of <strong>documentary<\/strong> and <strong><em>experimental cinema<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>La Ricerca<\/em><\/strong> is a visionary tale that offers an unprecedented perspective on the <strong>human journey<\/strong> and a manifesto of hope for our <strong>future<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Director&#8217;s notes \/ <\/strong>I met <strong>Luigi Lineri<\/strong> and his artwork in <strong>early 2015<\/strong>. This encounter ignited an unprecedented <strong>marvel<\/strong> and a long series of <strong>questions<\/strong>. A spark that started the development of this film. Luigi&#8217;s masterpiece is a formidable tool to investigate <strong>universal themes<\/strong>. He has materialized a vast field of <strong>anthropological<\/strong>, <strong>philosophical<\/strong> and even<strong> political topics<\/strong>. Many of these contents are extremely <strong>actual<\/strong> and <strong>urgent<\/strong>, as for example our <strong>conflicting relationship with the ecosystem<\/strong>. Shaping the film structure, I built on top of these elements. Re-contextualized film archives and evocative images\/sounds work in an <strong>allusive fashion<\/strong>, further exploring the film themes. It&#8217;s a continue and open <strong>dialogue<\/strong> with Luigi and with the audience. <strong>La Ricerca<\/strong> deals with <strong>collective empowerment<\/strong>, reshaping <strong>lost memories<\/strong> to build a <strong>better future<\/strong>. This <em>conservation<\/em> topic matters also in regards to the survival of the one-of-a-kind <strong>art installation<\/strong> created by Luigi Lineri. Given its peculiarities, there is the risk is that it will disappear together with its author, now <strong>85 years old<\/strong>. This film is a <strong>legacy<\/strong> of Luigi&#8217;s life <strong>commitment to art<\/strong>, intended as <strong>a way of serving the universal human community<\/strong>. All these motivations supported the long <strong>development process<\/strong> of this project, that lasted over 7 years. During this arc of time, many professional embraced this endeavor, in many cases as a passion project, as happened with the world famous musician <strong>Nicol\u00e1s Jaar<\/strong>, composer of the
